UK Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers' Community (RISC)

RISC brings together the UK industrial community to support the Government in creating a more secure and safe environment for UK citizens.

RISC is an alliance of companies, trade associations and think tanks, bound by a constitution that sets out its common vision and how it will operate.

Membership of RISC is through the family of trade associations and think tanks that support it: The British Security Industry Association (BSIA), the A|D|S and Intellect.

RISC is engaged with the Government in a range of activities to support national security objectives.

RISC Activities

RISC has a governing Council that meets quarterly to steer its activities.

RISC holds regular meetings with the Government to consider how it can help support the objectives set out in the National Security Strategy.

HMG and RISC have set up four Industrial Advisory Groups to allow specific industrial advice on key areas for national security:

• Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Protection contact IAG Co-Chair
• Information and Communications Technology contact IAG Co-Chair
• Protection of the Critical National Infrastructure contact IAG Co-Chair
• Stand-off Detection of Suicide Bombers contact IAG Co-Chair
• Olympics and Paralympics contact IAG Co-Chair

RISC has an International Group that meets regularly to consider how links with other countries and international institutions can help to meet national security objectives.

RISC has a Communications Group to oversee the provision of information about RISC to industry, Government and the wider public.
